How do you like your bilstein 5100 shocks

I am looking for some new shocks for my truck since it has about 100k miles. I have read all over the bilstein 5100 are one of the best but was their a noticable improvement from stock or is it just better. I don't want to waste my money on a little improvement. I want to see a consideral amount of improvement in my truck. Thanks for any imput. I plan on contigo upper controll arms too.

I'm lowered a couple inches, I like mine. The ones I have are designed for stock up to 3 inches of lift and they still ride pretty decent.

I'm running both. The UCA's helped a lot with alignment issues and the shocks handle very well. However they're a little stiffer than stock, so if want it to ride like a caddy you might want to try something else.

what would be better then for creating a nice ride? I don't want to drop money for a stiffer ride.

its hard for me to say for sure because my shocks where not that great when I bought it. I put the bilsteins on and it was a great ride. I bought them because of what i read about the longevity of them. the ride is great and i know that they will last a long time. even though they were not cheap I would buy them again. Also if you want a smoother ride lower your tire pres to the tires limit.

My 5100's have been great. Just ordered the Bilstein steering dampener last week.

I have worn out shocks on my front end and ordered the 5100's a couple of days ago. When I hit a rolling bump that compresses my front suspension, I will bounce forever, and it is really annoying. I'll post up after I get them put on and tell you how it works out. I agree about the tire pressure for "chattery" bumps. I run toyo mt's on my lly and when the shop put them on they had them aired up to 60 lbs! I run them at 35lbs and it makes a world of difference. It also kills my mileage having them that low. lol...worth it.

For a softer ride then the Bilstein 5100, Id go with the Rancho RS9000XL. The Bilstein 5100 ride nice. Iv owned the Rancho RS9000XL & adjusting the firm level was nice until the dial started sticking & couldnt move it. Plus they didnt last long compared to my Bilstein 4600.

Bilstein 5100 are are not as firm as the Bilstein 4600 (HD) series.
Bilstiens are mono tube shocks & The Rancho RS9000XL (I believe) are twin tube.
