Redhead Gear box

New redhead gear box on the way for my truck. The steering play is pretty bad now. Getting a bunch of work done on the front end next fri. Cant wait for it to be all nice and tight again.

-New uppers ball joints
-New UCA bushings
-Adjusting the torsions down a bit so the front end is same height side to side (currently 3/4" lower on one side)
-And a proper alignment. Not just a within factory spec one that im used to getting

Also i once over to see if anything else is worn out.

Dam this redhead has one nice tight box!!!!!

Dont tell my wife...

Kidding aside the truck feels nice and tight again. Still just a wee bit of slop but im thinking it might be in the colum or lower shaft bearing but i have no idea how to change that or even what part it is.

I just had a red head steering box installed along with Cognito uca's, lower ball joints, rare parts hd tie rods, idler and pitman arms with support kit. It tightened up quite a bit but there is still enough play that i am not happy with it. Did you ever replace your steering shaft? Did it help? Im looking for answers.

Well i spoke too soon about the redhead box! 1st one last 4 months and was leaking. The warranty one they sent me lasted 6 months and is now leaking again and feels sloppy. Really dont wanna put another redhead back in it even if they warranty it. Use it for a core for a new box from some other company
