What are t-bars and how do they work?

Torsion bars(t-bars) are what holds up the front end of your truck. They serve the same purpose as leaf or coil springs on other trucks. They can be adjusted up or down by simply turning two bolts. The bolts are located on either side right behind the front seats, underneath the truck. By turning the bolts in, you are raising the front end. By backing off on the bolts, you are lowering the front end. The more you crank the T-bars up, the worse your truck will ride. Cranking the T-bars up also causes accelerated wear on the front end. Cranking T-bars up some to level truck or to fit a larger tire is ok. Cranking the T-bars up all the way (for whatever reason) is not recommended.

Hows that? Is that what yall are looking for?

.. You got that far and then just left your answer short of explaining the MAIN point of what a new guy would need to know of what "Too far" means. Whats the spec & or area he needs to watch for. Your right there, don't give up. That was a great Q & A just need to finish the answer.

I'm not sure on the exact specs, somebody else will halfta explain that. How do you tell someone when enough is enough?

You want to maintain at least 5/8"s between the UCA and frame stop. If you crank on the torsion bars too much and the distance is less your ride will suffer really bad and you will run a higher risk of wear on the front end.

This pic shows you the concentrated spot to look at.

We sell the lower control arm bushing all the time but not to fix the steering.
