Cognito Question

I plan on getting a UCA leveling kit from cognito to be able to fit 33s. My question is can i install the kit with tools from around the house or do i have to bring it somewhere? Also should i get longer shocks or just the extensions?

the only reason you want the Cognitos is to fit your 33's??

the ONLY thing the Cognito UCA's do is give you more down travel when your bars are cranked or key'd.

you can run a 33 with your bars tuned up and not need the UCA's unless you are looking for max down travel, in case you are making lots of sweet jumps or something.

just give your bars a few cranks and drive it. you would be much better off spending your money on a better (longer) shock than a UCA kit.

the CV angle is what you need to be concerned about, not if you hit a bump stop on full down travel.

Call me if you need some help. I really hate to see so many people confused about this.

Cognito or NOT you are still going to fatigue your front end parts if you do not level properly.

I was wanting to get the UCAs bc of the angle the ball joints would be at and the wear they would get being at that angle. Would the ball joints not wear like im thinking they would if i would just crank the bars?

I want to put 33's on my truck, I have 285-75-16 already which is the closest tire you can get to a true 33/12.50 and my t-bars are only cranked .75 of an inch. i dont want to crank them all the way out though, wont sacrifice the nice ride. decisions decisions.

should clear with no rubbing with your bars up a couple turns a guy at work has 285 without them turned at all and barely rub on the inside, so you should be fine.

zip ties to hold back the wheel wells and a little trimming on the lower valiance. beat the truck up all day at the dunes, never rubbed.
