Just want 285/70/17 stock rim combo not to rub!

Looking for a little help folks. I decided to throw on 285's to stock height and rims on 2007.5 ccsb z71. Cranked keys about an inch or so, LOVE the way the new tires fill the wells, but rubbing from stock key level to 1.5" lift when cranked. I would like to know the easiest and cheapest way to be able to turn lock to lock without rubbing, and back-up and turn without rubbing. Daily driver and work run-about truck, no monster lift wanted (yet). Help please!

If its close you should be able to get away with trimming some of the plastic or pulling it back with zip ties. I have 285's on my OBS truck and after trimming they only rub when backing up or going around sharp corners and hitting a bump.

saw-zall, plastic cutters and coors are your friend

Well, just left the allignment shop. They increased my forward caster to try to move the tire forward slightly, but it wasn't enough. Basically, everyone is right, sawzall (or torch), zip ties, and coors (or whisky for me personnally). Who knew that the smallest increase up = tire rub. He was cool with the cranking of the keys until the yellow neoprene stopper blocks were just barely touching or resting on the axles, so I may actually improve my ride through all this. I will try to get some pix out there sooner than later (actually as soon as I can wash it and have the sun come out long enough for a picture). Thanks everyone for the advice

yeah, the classic body style has enough room to fit them without rubbing. I know, I have the 03 3500 dually, and there is enough room for the 285's on that truck (in front, on heck of a spacer to use them on back end for duallys). Love the new body style, just keep these postings in mind if you ever decide to "upgrade", then there is the dpf issue, and the........

I'm a fan of the "classic" style.

Plus this truck ain't cheap so I don't count on getting another DMax 'till this one has about 400,000 on it.

do you have OEM wheels on this truck? if so you should be able to clear them with just the Tbars cranked! we have done similar setups on quite a few GMT900 trucks and never had any fitment issues! you may have to trim a lil bit on the innerfender but other then that all is good..DO NOT cut metal or else you'll have problems with water in the cab! dont ask any questions!
