Been shadowing here for a long time. Great info on pretty much everything.
I'm running an '03 Duramax HD with a POS Superlift kit that came with the truck from the dealership with 35's.
According to them - it has 1 ton torsion bars cranked up which makes it an 8 inch. Dunno if that's true but I have been runnin' Nitto 37's pretty well for the last 2 years with very minor bumper trimming.
What sucks is Superlift shut down their Blog a couple years ago - right after I asked them about a dual shock kit for my particular lift.
The lift kit is the only thing I haven't replaced on my truck since I bought it from the dealership. Big shock that they use cheap crap.
I'm ready to seriously upgrade. My truck is the love of my life - Truck, then wife, then whatever else... The kids I guess.
I was really set on the Rize kit until I started doing research here and found the Nick guy pushing Cognito.
One thing about the Rize kit I was really excited about was the cantilever shock set up. Called them yesterday and they said that it's not happening - decided not to bring it to market. Bummer.
So - a few questions... Asking these based only after searching the DB for weeks. Not a fan of the other wild lift companies - CST etc...
I'm still set on either Rize, or now Cognito. I want to run a 40" tire, max, I think for now, as it will still be my DD, until the economy improves anyway.
One question is - what is a good 40" tire that works good and lasts long on the highway? Looking for longevity. My truck is a street truck. Off road almost never.
My AT Nitto's are 37's and 14.5 wide. Truly the best damn tire i've ever owned. I wish they would go bigger.
Also - cost of the Rize vs. Cognito. I love the look of the Rize but it seems that you could spend less and get a much "healthier" kit from Cog?
My truck and I have a deal where we are bargaining for who lives the longest - so investment/return is totallly not an issue. we are gonna be together 'til one of us (me) dies.
Thanks guys!

Hmmm 40" tire but you want them to last a long time? A lot of tires that size are mud tires. there arent many people running that size tire on their trucks now. Have you considered the cognito UCAs with dual shocks? that might help some. If u need a new lift though, i would definately go with a cognito....contact Nick at NorCal truck.

My photography skills are only bettered by the crap that is my camera but I'll get some pics up this weekend. Even fairly stock - My Baby does seem to be fairly rare in the world of Duramax BadAss....
yeah dealers cant seem to get anything right. I was always told not to buy a cheap lift, you will hate it. At least you didnt choose the lift this time. Nick will set you up right. he has a lot of experience with them. I love my cognito UCAs and bilstein 5100s

Did they have any wobble to them when running on the highway, I was going to go with the 44's but people always told me never buy Bias tires if you drive on the street alot.
I run Toyo Open Country 40's right now and they are awesome, I have 42,000 kms on them and still have about 55% left.
My CST kit is pretty nice but cost alot of money, I am going to go straight axle here in do time.
