Tighten parking brake (e-brake)?

Hi guys,

I was wondering how do I get my parking brake engage tighter? When I shift it into Park (P), I still get a little budge when I let go of the brakes unless I put the parking brake all the way deep to the floor, I don't think that's normal but it works fine. Is it possible that I can adjust it and engage a little earlier so I don't have to step on it that far? Just for a peace of mind, I guess.

Thanks.

My Parking brake does this too and I would like to fix it. Any luck recalibrating it?

Itís a Drum-in-Hat, open it up and adjust the shoes.

Usually, by the time the PB gives way from holding, itís also time (or nearing) for a brake job too (check the rears, wears there faster).

it's a mini drum brake set up inside the rotor just for the parking brake. It's easier to simulate the action of a drum by the use of cables.

Technically not a drum brake. But the park brake shoes are inside the rotors. It a "rotor drum". The soft filling is normal. You can adjust them without taking anything apart. If they still semi hold. Pull and hold the e-brake release handle then pump the e-brake pedal about 10-15 times semi fast that will rachet the adjuster. Hope i was some help.
