Straight Axle Conversions

looking at installing a straight axle into our 2005 LLY Dually, last nite i hooked it to the sled for my brother for the first time since it had been crashed about a year ago and wouldn't you know the front CV shafts sheered right off so now we r looking at upgrading to something a little stronger..
my question is who builds straight axle conversion kits and where can i find them?

Hmm thats a good question! I'd have to say buy a truckin mag they would probably have companys that has the kit. Wonder how hard it will be to find a axle?

So did it need towed or did you drive it home?

you need to look into Rock krawler suspension my bosses son put this setup on his truck and its awsome equivlent to a 9" lift not a spring lift but a 4-link setup with coilovers awsome flex and great ride uses a stock dodge aam axle he said for everything lift, coilovers, rear springs, drivelines, tires and wheels, front axle everything he was just under 15 grand awsome kit if you got the money.

oru does have a 4-link kit to. do you know if they have released it yet? also i think the price is almost double what the rock krawler is but i do like the dynatech axle that you get with the kit unlike rock krawler where you have to buy your own

one thing you have to remember though is to convert your truck over to strait axle even with a kit is very labor intensive its strait foward but is hard work also plan on having a couple headaches along the way such as abs system getting it to work steering system etc. but the end result is sick.

Pure Performance (RockKrawler) and ORU build straight axle conversion kits.

Where are you looking to be as in lift/height?

Here is a truck we built for Peterson Off Road Mag.

Petersen's 4Wheel 4-Link builds

It's sitting on 38's but you can see what the PurePerformance kit looks like.
