Pac Brake vs turbo brake tune

i have a pac brake on each of my trucks that i tow with every day and love it! does anyone have the tune that closes the turbo wondering if it works as well or better than what i have?does it shorten the life of the turbo more than the pac brake since the valve is further down the exhaust? has anyone ever heard of an actual comparison test being done?

If you have an lly or newer you can get it tuned so that the turbo vanes close up under certain conditions which creates back pressure and slows the truck down. It works pretty darn well although I can't compare how it works against a pac brake style exhaust brake.

Sent from my phone, probably while driving and eating a sammich

turbo brakes dont work very well on the 4094vvt because of the vane position

Considering that the boost built while using Turbo braking, is so much less than what it make to make power (10-12lbs or so) and this is with low egts. I can't see it being nearly as hard on the Turbo, as simply pulling a load.

I don't know how it compares with a pac brake, but I do know it works very well.

Turbo brake is nice but the pac brake gives you a lot more braking power.
