You do not have to worry about it with the LMM motor.

Nothing it is the generation of motor you have in the truck. Use the search option at the top on the tool bar it will open you up to a whole new wrold of information. Just try not to overload your brain!!!LOL

I just purchased an 06 GMC 2500 4x4 with 120,000 miles. It appears to be completely stock except for an AFE stage 2 intake that is missing the top cover (filter is exposed when you open the hood). After I purchased it i brought it to the dealer and had them go through the entire truck ($3000) and change all fluids, flush everything, and inspect everything. I just towed my 7K pound travel trailer from Houston to Bakersfield and averaged 7 to 8 mpg when towing. I get around 17 on the highway when not towing. What gives, the fuel costs is killing me? The only thing that I can think is that the top of the airbox is missing and their seems to be a slight humm that I think is coming from the front diff at low speeds. Anyone have any ideas?

I built a race car. I don't want to build a truck.

Last tank was 12.9mpg, hand calculated, towing a 2000lb flatbed with my 2100lb Miata on it. My friend with an '07 5.9 Cummins just told me he gets 24 unloaded and 18.5 pulling the same load.
