I am at a standstill trying to get my Tekonsha Voyager hooked up. I wired it to the adapter and plugged it into my trailer. The green light comes on fine. But when I try to level the control according to the instructions I can't get the red light to come on. It comes on when I slide the lever over.
So I checked the red wire. There is no power to the red wire when I depress the brake pedal.
I checked on tekonsha's website and no help there.
Any ideas???

if by red wire you mean the constant 12V that supplies the trailer with 12V even when the key is off, there is a maxi fuse under the hood that is NEVER installed from the factory due to the corrosive condition of DC voltage, most buyers dont use this function, so it is never put in until needed.

No..I'm talking about the red wire going to the back of the controller. There is a black one that is constant power. A blue one that sends the brake signal to the trailer. The white ground and the red one that I think is supposed to come on when you depress the pedal. I can't get any poer to the red wire. The brake lights work fine on the truck.

First, make sure you have the correct harness for the '05, as not all years are the same.
Orientation with the plug’s release tab at the top:
1. Top left = Dark Blue…this is your output line to the trailer brakes
2. Top right = Light Blue….this is your brake pedal feed to the controller for actuation
3. Center left = Red…..this is your fused battery feed to power the controller
4. Bottom left = Brown…this is for the controller illumination
5. Bottom right = Black….this is the controller’s Ground
It is possible that the battery feed for the controller was never connected to the fuse panel under the hood. If so, the wire will be bundled near the Master cylinder and inner fender on the driver's side.
On Edit: The above is the basic GM harness, the tekonsha brand harness is somewhat different on colors, but the plug's wire pin locations are the same per function, if that helps.

It seems to be the right harness. The colors are different but thae funtions match up. I tried another controller I had laying around and it is not different. So i think I can rule out a faulty controller. I do not have any power out of the top right when I press my brake pedal down. But there is constant power out of the center left. And I get power to the brakes (top left) when I manually slide the lever.
It seems my problem is that depressing the brake lever does not send a signal to the controller.
any ideas?

Are you testing outputs at the GM block, or the backside of the plug itself, inserted into the block? Just trying to rule out the harness/plug/wire pins.

I was checking at the ends of the harness. I will try it up at the block.
I think I may have a lead. I was reading an old thread on another forum. They said that the fuse to the high brake light on the cab controls the signal to the brake controler also. My high brake light does not work so this could the problem. I just cannot find the fuse. I've checked them all and there are no problems. Buit i can't find one labeled for that stop light.
I'll keep searching. But at least I have a good direction.
