big problems with my '04 LB7.. Hoping GM Tech can help!!!
Hey GM Tech,
I would really appreciate your insight. Other than a B&W roll over hitch and a 70 gallon Transfer Flow aux. tank, my short bed is a totally stock 'O4 LB7. 140,000 miles. Pull a 45' boat trailer with it. All up, 11,000 lbs.
At 70,000k, under warranty, the dealership replaces all 8 injectors after truck started smoking. No hassles, no big deal, ran great after that.
At 135,000k, she started smoking again. Took it in, the dealership replaced 3 injectors after getting bad balance rates.. $1600.
Pull outta the lot, stop to get some fuel, and notice it smoking worse than before!! Call, leave a message of course, and raise holy hell. Take it back in the next day and tell them to fix it quick becasue Im supposed to leave on a rounder in 5 days. THey take it back and say that 1 more is cloggeD. valve covers come BACk off, and its just parts this time. They feel like they owe me the labor. WHICH THEY DO!!
So i lleave on my cross country trip and im barely up snoqualmie pass and its smoking again... when i got the four replaced, i guess they were all on the right bank. i get back from this trip. 7,000k later, and it goes back in. This time thry replace all 4 on the left bank, and they telling me that i have metal shavings in my fuel lines.. $3000k more...
GM has a 7YR/200K mile warranty on the 01-04 LB7 Injectors and to my knowledge they have no limit on the amount of injector changes while the truck remains under this warranty..i would contact GM and get the lemon law in motion and get my money back.
