Is it bad to pull a trailer without it being in tow mode the reason i ask is last weekend i was pulling a 12x6 enclosed trailer full of decoys it dont way alot so i figured id be fine well going up parleys on i80 i got a code 403 i belive exaust gas recirculaition firast time i ever got that one so i was wondering if it was cause i didnt have it in tow/haul just wondering what i did any advice is greatly appreciated. when ever im hauling my skid steer or camp trailer i use it also
should i be concered at all or no it is the first time it ever threw that code or any code since i had the evo on it had an egr code thrown befor so i had the dealership update my computer also what do you think i got that code from egt getting to high or what
Towing heavier loads without tow/haul mode on increases sump tempratures as well as wear and tear on your transmission. Small trailers or loads dont require you to be in tow/haul mode
