Mine has enough torque to pull any passes empty no sweat. Down also OK. Don't use w/ 2K lb trailer but do w/ 7K. Not w/ just 4K lb camper on, up or flat but do down. I switch it off even towing if I need to cruse about 50 flat, for better mileage but flip it on if it gets hilly. I just go easy on the skinny pedal then.
I use it in the steeper parts and take it off on the flat higher speed sections. Above 9,000lbs I use it most of the time it is a bit harsher shift, but less RPM, in the lower gears, stays in 5th longer. Seems to go almost directly into lock-up.

I run mine with the truck unloaded, my daily drive includes a 7% grade for a little over a mile both ways, i just click it on and the truck coasts down no brakes needed
also if i want to have a little fun i leave it on over flat ground for that better acceleration. it wont hurt the tranny to run w/ t/h on but at cruising speeds and daily driving I wouldnt use it just cause of the lower fuel economy

added tow mirrors, nerf bars, reverse lights
tweaked and tuned CB for police warnings
i use it to start and stop with my 7k enclosed work trailer but not all the time,
i use it all the time with the skidloader which is around 12k
It really helps on the accelerating and with braking
It however doesnt hurt anything except for your wallet at the pump.
