what weight for tow haul mode

at what trailer weight do you guys actually use tow haul mode? i just dont want to do any damage to the tranny or anything else, and of course want the best fuel economy. what do you guys think?

there are some people who use t/h all the time without pulling or hauling anything. I don't think it hurts anything

It doesn't really "hurt" anything, but gas mileage will suffer if on all the time. If pulling a small trailer (10' with atv on it), I don't use it- may throw it on to help slow down to save on the brakes, but my 18' empty I use it, pry don't need to- just so I stay in the habit.

I use it anytime I don't feel like using the brakes!
Definatly anytime you are towing in stop and go traffic, - I would not use in most cases on a nice highway for mileage reasons.

The only time that i use mine is if the trailer has a load on it or if its a heavier tralier, with it on the truck will downshift its self makes it alot easier on the brakes

Tow haul setting can also be a help when running empty in the hills such as pulling passes in Colorado.
