Finally got it fixed!. The blue output wire from the controller was rotted away inside the factory plug connection at the hitch. GM should do better! If you twist the plug loose from the hitch and then open it up you may find some nasty corrosion going on in yours. It hasn't rained here in over a week and I can't remember the last time I drove in the rain yet this plug had water still inside and several terminals were badly corroded the trailer brake termilnal was completely gone. I couldn't locate a direct replacement without a trip to the stealership. The stealership will sell you the outside half of the connector for $51 and claimed the wiring harness half of the connector doesn't even show on their computer???? I already talked to another guy with an 06 with a similar problem better check yours and pack the center of the plug with dielectric grease before too late. Thanks for those who assisted.
