It took me awhile locally, but I found a solid steel stinger rated at 16k and and a 2 5/16" inch ball rated at 16k. The stinger is 2x2, but it worked ok with the insert provided with the truck when I bought it. The hitch has a label on it that says Class V with a weight rating of 13/15K. The other day I hauled this dump trailer (3200lbs) with 9500lbs of rock in it each time. I guess I was close to the limits of the hitch, but I also assume they are rated with some margin in the ratings. It was also my first time towing anything heavy with this truck and I am very pleased. I did notice that Northen Tools sells the 2 1/2" stingers for around 50 bucks. I think I'll stick with my setup as I can't imagine needing to tow heavier, atleast not on a ball hitch.
