When towing a big 5th wheel down the highway, do you leave the truck in tow mode the whole time or just when starting, stopping and going up hills? I also have the EDGE w/juice module in my truck and it also has a tow mode. I am not sure if I am supposed to have both on at the same time, one or the other?

All the tow button does is make your shifts longer so it gets higher RPM's in each gear. Then there will be more power during low rpm's at the start of the next gear. I dont think it blocks out over drive. Id say if your doing 60-70mph on flat ground and the RPM's arent any higher than they are if you unloaded your fine. If there almost in the red take it out of tow/haul mode.
Its ok to use both the edge and stock tow modes at the same time.

I noticed yesterday that the allison on tow mode just flares each shift to keep the boost up. does this not damage the trans, its like it slips into each gear? I just bought my truck and it has bully power pup on performance right now. my trailer was unloaded 18 ft. car hauler. it just doesnt feel right? any help with this
From my understanding the tow haul mode just locks your torque converter. It doesnt hurt anything to drive it around like that, my buddy has PPe hot 2 in his lly and he says it runs better in tow haul mode.
just leave it tow mode while hooked up. It does not lock out overdrive. You can use the manual overdrive lock out when climbing steep inclines so you're not shifiting in and out of overdrive all the time. AS far as transbreaking on the down hill side, I've pulled 3500 rpm for short periods. When I got home I asked my buddy at a GM deakership about the high rpms and was told it was no problem. he said the red line on the tach is basically meaningless, the engine can more than handle it.

I to have the power pup on my 05, At first I had it on the performance mode and the shifting felt funny loaded or unloaded, put it in the tow/econ and the truck shifts great and seams to run better loaded or unloaded. Just my 02

I personally don't like tow haul mode....makes me feel like I am wasting gas and it almost seems un-necessary. If I were towing or hauling a crap load of weight....I would probably use it...but if I didn't have to...I wouldn't.
