Aftermarket Fuel Tank

Has anybody put a larger fuel tank on there tow rig yet. I am thinking about putting a replacement tank in place of the stock tank to increase my capacity to 50 gallons. I get tired stopping every 150-200 miles when pulling my 5th wheel.

I am just curious what type to go with and how hard/easy it is to install. I am thinking more about the kind that replaces the stock tank rather than the in bed type since I do tow a 5th wheel.

I am putting an 'across the bed' TransferFlow tank in at this time. Should give me about 70 gallons of usable fuel.

About 1400 miles highway between fillups, or Chicago to Denver with only my bladder to worry about.

Here's another question;

If cold weather causes diesel fuel to gell, wouldn't fuel in a metal container in the truck bed gel up faster than fuel in the OEM tank?

How is there a fuel heater somewhere in the truck that heats the OEM fuel tank?

I have an 06 extended cab lbz and I replaced the main 26 gal tank with a 45 gal one from extreme diesel and it fits like a glove.

Curious on a couple of things.
1- For those of you with the Transfer Flow does the inch sticking down past the frame concern you or has it been a problem?
2- Does the fuel gauge indicator report properly? If not is there a way to modify it to the new size tank?

I do not have a transferflow, but I have not had any clearance problems. the gauge will work the same. Exept for one thing, it will stay on teh full mark for about 200 miles before it starts to move, that was strange for the first tank or two. I love mine and am thinking abou an in bed tank also. Does any one have one for sale?
