Hey guys. I got a 2006 crew cab 3500 dually. I got no power to the accessory terminal in the trailer plug. I saw a sight that explained how you have to un tape a connection under the hood of the truck then install a fuse to get power to this connector. I can't find the sight. I got kicked of the internet while viewing this instruction. any one know where this info is found?
Hey just wanted to let you know I found the problem thanks to this sight. There is a dummy fuse marked B+ in the fuse box in the engine compartment. It was located in the top left of the pannel. Owner's manual says "DO NOT INSTALL FUSE". So much for that idea. Why wouldn't they say Only install for trailer accessory power or some thing. Glad I didn't start rippin the wiring apart to find the problem. Thanks to this sight I saved myself a lot of aggrivation. Thanks again for the help.
I just rewired my car hauler and never noticed this position on the 7 pin harness until now. ( this postion empty on my harness and trailer) Is this so that you can run trailer lights overhead on an enclosed? How about some examples of why/how this accessory position is used. May be dumb question, just wondering.
It's a 40amp feed to recharge your trailer's battery(s). All RVs run on a 12-volt system and have a battery (or multiples), as well as a large trailer mounted winch for a car hauler.
I have one on my GN to run the air compressor, winch(es) and auxiliary lighting for loading/unloading and maneuvering at night.
