Eletric Break Hookup

Hi guys,

I was wondering if there is a hookup for the eletric break on my truck (listed in my signature) or do I have to do some splicing?

If it's plug-an-play is there a break I should be looking at? If it's splicing where are the wire located?

As alway, Thnx for the Help!!

If you have the trailer package, you should have a wire harness in glove box or somewhere. I had to ask for mine, the dealer takes them out till you demand them. It plugs in under the dash on the driver side firewall and wires to the controller very simple. I mounted the controller on the bottom of the dash under the steering collum there is a metal part that has two holes, I was told just for this, so no drilling.

I run the Tekonshia Prodigy brake controller and love it. If you did not get the wire harness from the dealer check with the auto parts store you get your brake controller from. Tekonshia has their own that are color coded and have quick plugs that will go from your inside fuse box (by your left foot) and plug directly into the brake controller.
I mounted mine in the center below the steering wheel so I won't hit it with my knees.

Thnx for the replies.

I got my truck used so there was no harness in it. I have located someone that is shipping one they are not using.

I seen the 2 holes for mounting the brake so that is cool. I am understanding that the wiring harness is then plugged into the fuse box behind the OBD (or ODB can't remmeber what it's called anymore) connector, is this correct?

on the driver floor board all the way to the left is the fuse box. It just has one plastic nut in the center and a couple of clips, I think one on each the left and right side on the outside, you can feel them with your hand. Look in your manual and they actuall show it pretty well.
