Firestone airbag system

I know I have seen post on these, but can not find it. I am wanting to get a set for my truck. How much and what systems do you guys have? Is it an easy do-ityourselfer, or would it be easier to have a shop do it? Thanks for all your help.

It looks like a fairly easy install, you can view the installation manual here:

I have it and it easy to install. Only cost me $150, that only the bags. You really dont need to adjust the bags that much and if you do go to a gas station and use there hose. I would say this is one of those things that is better then the add a leaf and other crap like that. You buy the bags and you will be happy.

I couldnt see it being a very hard install you should also be ok with your 5inch exhaust.

I would have to say spend the extra $$$$ and get the compressor so you can fill it up while your driving. Especially for what you do if you happen to get a heavy load and the truck is sagging you can adjust it in the cab. A friend of mine just bought a truck with the system in it. Its definatly a nice idea.

My brother in law got me a kit (just bags, no compressor) in Salt Lake City for $250. I installed them in my garage in two hours with no special tools. On thing I did differently was to get a "T" fitting so both bags filled from one valve rather than the two that came with the kit. 2 years and no leaks. I run 70 - 75psi with the 5th wheel on, 5psi without.

I run these in my truck as well. I actually installed these in my 04 gasser then swapped them into my 05 Duramax. I'm not sure on 07's but the classic and older is very easy to install. You just remove the bump stops and the bags bolt in it's place. The only drilling was for the air fittings. I installed two seperate fills. I have a large Lance slide in camper and needed sway control. With one fill valve air will shift from side to side. I guess with a fifth wheel being in the middle of the truck that wouldn't matter much? I run the same pressures as Blastmeister does. 5 psi w/o camper and 65-75 with my slide in camper. Put your fill valve in either the gas cap or like I did, In the drivers side wheel well. towards the front of the truck. 2 trucks and 4 years with no leaks. I don't have a compressor. I fill them at home or any gas station.
