New Prodigy Hooked up! But????/

07 early model with Duramax and six speed Allison. Hooked up per the diagram, used the harness that was in the glove box and plugged it in at the correct spot in the fuse box on the floor.
after this was done and bracket was mounted I plugged the Prodigy pn 90185 and it came on right away!

is this ok? I am worried that it is gonna drain the battery if it just sits there all night.
I unhooked it and plan on only hooking back up when I get the trailer and am ready to pull.

Thanks in advance
R

My prodigy turns on when I hit the brakes. It goes to sleep after a few minutes of no activity. (i.e. braking)

Never had a dead batery yet. You will be fine.

Thanks

Ok, I will hook it back up and see how long it takes for it to shut down, did you guys have to hook up any wires under the hood? the article that i was using for reference was talking about hooking up the wire to a post under the hood. I was going to look for it but plugged it in first.
The sucker came on,, so i just figured the trucks was already hooked up;
Again thanks for the help. I am sure I will return again, I love forums for our cars,,,,,,,,,,I have a 95 Impala SS and have been a forum member there since 02.

I ordered my Prodigy with a plug and play harness that wires directly to the unit, then directly to the socket on the panel on the floor. No splicing needed and it did power up at that point but the only thing required under the hood is the big red or orange wedge type fuse that plgs in to give 12V power to your 7-way for charging the battery on your trailer.

I have a Bully Dog 16 brake controller, it's LED's are on 24/7. With dual truck batteries, no sweat. Truck has sat for several weeks at a time & lights right up first try.
