Transfer Fuel Tank Install Kit

I am looking for a kit to hook up my aux tank to my fuel sytem in a 2006 Chev 3500. I have seen one @ Northern Tools that is gravity fed. I would think the factory tank would overflow. Does anyone have a suggetion on the best way to
attach to the fuel system?

the kit you are talking about will not let it overflow.

i am thinking of doing the same thing.

Gravity feed

On my 2005 Duramax I used a 12 volt soleniod switch to control on/off flow. Had truck for 3 years, never did overflow main tank. Only problem I had is that the main tank would fill too much & trick fuel guage to thinking it was empty. Just have to shut off aux tank for a few km's to make fuel guage return to normal. Also make sure switch is only in on postion when truck is running, this will prevent overflow.

I installed one and it did overflow. I looked the instructions over real close and installed it per specs. I think the unit may have had a defective float ball in it that is supposed to close off the aux tank flow when the fuel level in the filler line causes it to float up. I just live with it and use the manual valve that came with it.

oilpatch, my maintank does the same thing! I have a 55 gallon titan main tank, when my trip gets to 99.8 miles my gauge dives to empty, and will stay there for 15 - 115 miles, or if i shut the truck off.
