5th Wheel Towing

Found a 5th wheel toyhauler but not sure if I can safely tow it. Biggest concern is the pin weight of 2100lbs. I have a 2500 crew cab 4/4 short bed with the Duramax Diesel.

2100#'s thats a big toyhauler,,,,nice,,, go get 42 bags of feed and thats what its gonna look like, alot of these guys love the airbag sytem and for someone running a trailer just off and on you let the air back out and have that nice 2500hd ride, my truck has a trailer w/8000 or more 80% of its miles so i went w/springs but empty is rough

Get a set of Helwig air bags, and the Pullrite 18K for short beds. You will love it. Simple install for both.

is that pin weight dry or loaded? Most toy haulers the toys are behind the trailer axles loaded it acctualy reduces pin weight

The dry weight so they say is 10100lbs with a carrying capacity of 3500lbs. The toyhauler is a Keystone Mountaineer 347THT.

I'm pulling a 37' New Vision Sportster. With full water (110 gal), fuel, 2 quads, etc, etc I figure I've got 16Kplus behind my '04 2500HD 4x4 SB CC, and a DRY pin weight of approx 3000lbs. The truck is stock except for Ride Rite bags (I run them at about 70, 75psi) and have no probs. As Maxxflip says, the quads take weight off the pin and the trailer actually pulls better with the quads loaded. The empty weight of my trailer is 13500lbs, so you should have no issues with the Keystone.

I pull a 37 ft weekend warrior 5th wheel with a pin weight of 2300 lbs. I use hellwig airbags with 80llbs of air and it sits dead even. Real comfortable ride.
