i think fords interior sucks a big one and always has plus they have nothing for a radio as far as chevy BOSE and dodge INFINITY.
If you're that worried about radio then install some aftermarket speakers. Not so hard??
You take a ride in my truck or even any lariat and I'm sure your opinion of Ford's interior blowing will change. Try an 07 KR or HD edition! I've driven GM's with leather interior, dodge I've never found one w/ leather, and Fords w/ leather. Personally I think GM interior seems cheap and light compared to fords but is more then tolerable. Both are ages ahead of Dodge's tho, so I'd definately rock GM.
Remember this is coming from someone who would probably have a GMC in his driveway if his intial plans weren't to lift the truck...
Personally I think that video is B.S..... Does anyone know what kind of software was on the lab-top in the cab of the truck? Efi live etc.....
Its kinda funny if ya think about it. People really gotta look hard to find any problems with the Duramax. One video of a truck overheating.. Wow im impressed!

I guess a running truck makes for more dramatic video,, perhaps a Dodge sitting in a driveway with a broken injection pump, or a ford that will barely start and run because of defective injectors or a broken turbo dont make for exciting TV.

thats right,I've done two injection pumps, they are not very exciting to see fail...that truck in the vid was having trouble, but someone I trust to know says that a few of those trucks had some trouble with a Vane position sensor or something in the turbo,so its not like they all do it.
I love how he keeps saying "an inferior product" Like that dodge aint just working his truck over, and never saw any black smoke indicating bombs either.
Dodge is fine,if you don't mind working on it,and the rough ride, and the bad seats..I love my dodge,it just has some issues, the next truck will be GM

Yuo have a great attitude, probably a bit better than mine! Sorry you are getting stuck in the middle between my comments and the comments of others! I know I have been a little agressive in the defense of the DM, but I cant help myself. It makes me defenseive when folks come here to bad mouth the duramax and GM. (I am NOT talking about you) I have spent time on forums for the other two brands, (while trying to fix my dads trucks) when I am there, I dont talk down to folks who prefer Fords or Dodges, that is just not right.
In the past I have owned a Dodge Cummins, my dad has owned 3 one of which he still owns.
I do have issues with Dodge concerning the 90 Dodge I used to have. I dont like to admit that the Dodge is a good truck but it is. If GM didnt make the DM and I didnt still hold a grudge I might consider buying one.
Still I can not understand why Dodge has not addressed the troublesome VP injection pump (and stock lift pumps) after all of these years.
Take care Lancer!

I have an '05 2WD drive 3500 dually with 108,000 miles on it. I pull a 45' hot shot trailer out of Henderson NV. My average gross weight is 28,000 lbs, up and down mountains and across the desert. I have yet to put a wrench on the D-Max or the Allison, other than oil and complete filter changes at 10,000 miles.
The truck gets a little over 8 mpg loaded...who cares when you make an average of $1.20 a mile on the low side loaded and empty!
The only thing I'd trade my 3500 Chevy for is a 4500 Chevy!

In my opinion GM makes a world class truck and has for many years. I dont think that GM gets the recognition or the sales numbers that they deserve.
Ever since the introduction of the 88 models, GM has built an excellent truck, you can drive the hell out of them, neglect them, and even ignore them and they keep going without stuff falling off.
It is unfortunate that so many folks wont know how good these trucks are when they purchase their Toyotas and Hondas on the promise of higher quality. Too Bad!

Since someone brought up the EGT's on the LLY, I need to get some serious input.
My buddy "had" an 04 LLY with an Edge. On setting "1" his EGT's were up in the 1400+ range pulling a 32' 5'er up the passes in CO. He had to pull over a few times to let it cool down. On the way home, he set the programmer back to factory settings hoping it would run cooler. It helped a little but still ran hot. He ended up trading the 04 for the LBZ 06.
That said, does anyone have the EGT temps of the LBZ running stock programming? Also, does anyone have the EGT's with programming and pulling a load? If so, please state the temps/programmer and setting.
Before he buys a programmer, he's curious if the LBZ has the overheating and excessive EGT's the LLY had. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry, I should have elaborated. He had the 4" Magna Flow cat back exhaust and the Air Raid cold air intake.
He also said the normal EGT's were 1050 and with the programmer running at setting one, you could hear the motor boiling when he would pull over to cool down.
