Spin on change

Truck is in sig. When I change my spin on, what fluid do I prefill it with? Any ol' dex vi? Or is there a certain kind? Or do i not have to prefill? I'm not interested in ordering oem fluid and oem filter. Delco is fine from carquest

You don't need to pre fill it. If you do, it would be best to do a double drain and fill with castrol transynd.

I prefer to pre-fill the filter….simplicity.

With your LLY 5-spd, you'll need the Dex-III equivalent, not Dex-VI. Your Delco local source is fine.

But for future filter needs, sourcing from the DF Vendors Here will get you the Allison filter for 1/3-1/2 the price of retail.
Add in Racor fuel filters to the purchase and $ave even more, while having the best filtration available for both in stock form.

Fyi, Dex fluid is pure dog crap...

Allison Transynd is going to do much better if you plan on keeping it.

X2

Unless you have a built tranny then I would just switch over to Transynd and call it good.
