| "Shift Range Inhibited" and wont shift into 4th Hey guys my lb7 suddenly started getting a warning message on the dash saying shift range inhibited when i go to put it in gear. and when i finally get it to go into gear, i cant go past 60km/h because it wont shift into 4th gear. i cleaned the switchs on the side of the tranny with break clean then put synthetic grease in them, and its still doing it. I know theres someone i have to replace i just dont know waht. thanks.

| Its a little black box on yur tranny i think its called the shift control modulator. Im not sure if thats what it is but ive had to replace mine once when it said the same thing. Mine also does that when i limp it

| I cleaned the plugs and the shift range inhibited seemed to stop but its still not shifting past 2000 RPM

| Diesel Place : Chevrolet and GMC Diesel Truck Forums Check this out ^^. ~$60 part at most Allison dealers. Sounds like this will cure the issue.
