What all does the Transgo do. The technician that works on my truck from time to time at the dealership asked me why I wanted to put the shift kit in if I am going to buy efi live. He said that you can turn the line pressure up with the programmer and I would just be wastin my money if I bought the shift kit. So is he right or is he just talking sh#*
Thanks
Brad

Nothing takes the place of a shift kit. When you do a trans go it increases the line pressure by making the ports bigger and the actuators on the solenoid valves bigger.I would ask if you can handle more power withthe trans go and the Efi live program.

Get the transgo JR. I'm planning to do mine this spring. It will help to hold about another 20 hp so you will be able to hold 120 hp than 90 to be safe. I'm also going the EFI live route too. Where did you get the transgo Jr from?

Sorry, transgo Jr only applies to the 6 speed tranny from 06 to current year. For the 5 speed, its not worth it because you have to remove the tranny to put the shift kit in. On the 6 speed, you just have to drop the pan and the valve body.

There is two TransGo kits-- one is the Jr. which was made for the six speed trans-- it includes two valve body trim valves with springs and balls-- you also have to drill two holes in the seperator plate to a larger size. This will fit and help a 5 speed trans somewhat, but not as much as it will for the 6 speed. Well worth it on all Allisons.
The other is a full TransGo (not Jr) and requires that you remove the trans and replace some inner parts.
Hope this helps. Jerry
