im looking for a shop in the st. louis area to start building my tranny I dont want to go to any shop unless the allison is a simple transmission and any shop can work on them but I went to a local shop and asked about installing a transgo and I got the feeling that they didnt know much about the allison
It's not really the St. Louis area, but St. Jo diesel in st Joseph Mo, does a swap out. for like $4k you drive there and they put in an already rebuilt stage 4 allison and you're on your way within a few hours.
A customer of ours went down there a couple weeks ago, and is very pleased with the results!!
those ats trannys are crazy priced $10500 for a transmission who buys them? who has $10000 laying around for a tranny. They must be very very proud of there transmissions
the stage 4 or 5 what ever I buy I want it to be my last even if it is overkill for my setup
I want to over do it by at least 150 horse. I know I will get 10 different opinions but what set up is the have the least issues. One day I would like a mid to low 12's truck and daily driver reliability so what direction should I go. I will spend more if I have to(rather not but will)
imo thats the best way to do it, if you do have a problem they will warranty it since they built it instead of trying to get if warrantied if "some guy" built it.
Trans To Go..........Imperial MO.....from stock to 6 sec 1/4 mile drag cars trans....they can build em! I have used them for decades without ever a failure! Currently have a 7 sec dragster with their glide in it, a 3600lb low 10 sec Chevelle with their turbo.............neither has ever failed
