Transgo is def. worth it...read my sig!! You would rather a trans shop install it or study uop yourself and take your time, do it right. Not that bad, just be patient and meticulous with your work. Fortunately, I do lots of work on trans pans and filters, so not much was new to me when I did mine. Your shifts will be firmer and more positive, you will enjou it...vendors on here sell it so buy from them....Jason

Its basically a shift kit more or less. Helps the 6 speed hold more power in the higher gears. I can get you a price if you'd like! Let me know

Does it protect your tranny at all or just add firmer shifts and more power?

the JR kit increases line pressure and will help the life of the clutches. So, yes, it will "protect" and lengthen the life of your trans. Its a "must have" on the 06+ Duramax.

We have a great price on these.

All has to do with Trim valves. Trim valves in an Allison trans perform the same function as an accumulator in another transmissions, lets the valves react quicker. If you want to get more pressure you have to go to the main regulator valve, shim it and that ups the pressure (basic hydraulics)
