20mph? what the hell are you talking about??? the speed limit in snow, with or without 4wd, here in NV is 35. Why in the world would you feel unsafe at 25, 30,or even 40 in snow? He didn't say he was tailgatin', or on a winding mountain road. Yeah, it's nutty to do 70 in the snow (did 75 once, a real thrill, but stupid), but it's almost as nutty to say 20 is the max safe speed.

If I was following you doing 20 in a snowstorm, I would assume you had never driven in the snow in your life, and you must be frozen in place by fear.

Of course, that is just my opinion.

Buckmeister2 I guess you didn't understand my post. I did not say not to drive over 20mph in the snow(how stupid) I said I don't drive over 20 in 4wd. Above that I take it out of 4wd and drive as fast as I wont. It's hard on shit in 4wd especially when there is not enough snow on the ground. I only use 4wd to take off I don't need 4wd to stop thats what my brakes are for. And really if your one of thoes guys that do drive 70 in 4wd WHY. Does it make you feel safe.

Of course, thats is just my opinion.

so i should be going 107mph in the 1/4 in 4wd? I have gone 200 miles from the dunes in 4hi and not one issue.

How and i going to stop in 4wd? simply push on the brakes

how is driving on the strip different? 4wd is 4wd it doesnt know the difference.

When you turn in 4wd it binds- I said driving on the drag strip is different your not turning. Hollyshit people. Just drive your truck how you want. Just don't complain when your shit vibrates.

Good thing your a tech, I hope you don't talk that way.

Holy crap......a little sensitive are we?

I believe the original question was how fast you can drive in 4wd. Not how fast does everyone feel is safe to drive in snow. Your truck won't mind, I just woudn't suggest taking it in or out of 4wd anything over 35mph.....

Anyone throw it in or out at higher speeds without ill effects? I take that back...I have probably taken mine out at 50mph but not engage.

Yes. Mine is on the floor though. I did it on the highway a few times. I put it in N, crammed it in 4HI, put it back in D and was pedal to the metal.
I have to put mine in 4HI in the rain sometimes. Either that or baby the go pedal.
