I have 2004 lly with allison 5 speed 53,500 miles trans started to act up about 3 months ago finaly got into dealer warranty ran out in may. this being said they changed fluid and filters ok for about 20 miles now worse than befor only in over drive on level road it fluters and hesitates on easy aceloration, on hard acceleration down shift and fine. note miles this worries me do i replace or rebuild. What should it cost either way and any sugestions on equipment to use I towed a camper about 3-4,000 miles of the total so i didnt think that should have caused the problem?
You dont have any power adders do you? You could be just having your TC go out on you. Personally I would rather rebuild the one on my truck as i know what i have put the tranny though. When is the last time you changed your fuel filter? That will cause your tranny to act weird with shifting and such.

You should check your fuel filter like stated above, it will cause wierd things to happen. Hope you get it fixed.

Yes fuel filter first then I would suggest that the TC is going out. If thats the case you could go to a stage 3 style kit and a new TC and not have to worry about it again. Cost on that can be 1900.00 in parts then add labor if you don't do it yourself. That could amount to an average of 1200.00 in labor.
