louder noise when you put truck in park

what would cause a louder noise when you put the truck in park. its kinda a clunk noise when you shift in to park. I only really notice it when i pull the truck in the garage and i have my window down. but it seems like it is louder then it should be.

yea the parking pawl is to keep the driveline locked its like on semis or manuals since they dont have a park gear... with parking pawls they need a manual parking brake or on a semi... air brakes Its normal sometimes when i shift it I get a pretty loud clunk from mine

I thought I didn't push the brake pedal in far enough.I hear in when I pack down the boat ramp too but I knew that was normal becouse of the angle the truck is in.
