Ok guys new here and have did alot of reading. 1 why are people wanting to charge around 6000 to rebuild allision trans when im looking at sun coast stage4 for around 2800 that mean there wanting 3000 in labor thats BS to put nicely and called and talk with someone at suncoast who wasnt to nice and wasnt for off that price feel like im tring to be taken 4 a ride. anyone no some good around new orleans to jackson ms who can do this rebiuld for me thanks
Welcome to the site. Are there any Diesel performance shops around you area? I went to one here locally and asked them who they suggested. Alot of ordinary transmission guys don't know much about these allisons. I agree that 3000 is way to high for labor you should be able to find someone to do it much cheaper.

When i called and talked to them they were very nice and helpful, i don't remember who i talked to though. You must have gotten somebody on a bad day. To the best of my knowledge they don't do in kit installs at there shop. I think all they do are the Stage V installs.

X2, they only swap for the stage V. But they have a list of reputable tranny guy's that install there kits all over the country. Just give them a call and tell them where you are from and they will send you in the right direction.
Well, you have 2 options there. You can order the Stg IV kit and have someone rebuild the trans, or order the STG V kit and its a simple Remove and Install. The Stg V is a complete trans with a Stg IV kit, but built by Suncoast. R+R on a trans is not much at all, if you don't want to install it yourself. Finding a local shop in an area as big as New Orleans should be no problem.
