04 Tranny Service Lb7

Hey Guys My Truck Just Rolled 75k, And I Dont Think The Tranny Fluid Has Ever Been Drained, I Smelled It Today And It Smells A Little Used Crispy, Should I Just Change The Screw On Filter, And Pull The Plug In The Pan,and Then Just Refill It. Or Do I Have To Take The Pan Off And Change The Inner Filter.

You can just change the spin on drain the pan. The internal does not require changing until 100000 miles

I like amsoil sythetic. The dextron IV is what it calls for though.

The amsoil will mix, but it won't hurt to stay with the dextron. It is mostly personal preference. Not all synthetics will mix, but amsoil will.

It's not available in my area either, I have to order it. If you live close to a allison dealer you could go with tranysnd synthetic. That is the allison brand synthetic which is also very good.
