Don't look in the bucket.......look on top of the old filter. OR.....
It may have stuck on the tranny and you didn't even know it was there. If you're going to try the speaker magnet, look for it where the filter screws on, it may be there.

Ya when I did mine last the magnet stayed on the trans. It looks like a large, thick washer. Just take it off clean it and put it back on. There reusable.

It goes around the shaft that the filter scews onto. Before the oil filter!
