transmission questions (problems?)

i have a couple questions. 1. when i shift from reverse into park it makes a pretty good thunking sound (and sometimes from drive to park) and on level ground the truck rolls back an inch or two (like its spring loaded or somethin). but if i go from reverse to neutral to park it just makes a little thunk and its fine. 2. sometimes when i am coming to a stop it kinda feels like someone has rearended me. it happens right before the truck is completly stoped. its almost like its downshifting hard or somethin. i dont have the tow/haul on. if anybody could help that would be great. i just wanted to catch it before it became a bigger problem. thanks JB

My 01 does the same thing. I'm hard of hearing and with the hearing aids, the coming to a stop to me sounds like the diesel fuel is sloshing in the tank once. Also I get the banging noise. Hope someone can help you. I have just become accustomed to the noisecause everything seems to check out ok.

The noises are all normal. The feeling of being rearended is probably when the t/c is unlocking so it rolls much easier.

My '02 LLY cc DRW did the same thing. This '05 never has though, maybe something changed within the Allison or ECM between early and later versions?
