well ive been doing turbo research for like the last 4 months on what i want to do this summer. the more i think, the more i want to do a compound setup. just talked to a guy on DP that built his one (almost the exact same as MPI's setup) using the stock IHI turbo and a s472 (id probably use a s475) and he is making move 600HP with 45 lb of boost. he is only spinning 15-20 psi added in the IHI so the wheel is not over spinning and the housing can take the boost, just the wheel can not. im thinking i can build the whole thing for under 2000. i may spend 50 hours doing it but i think it will be worth while. what do you guys think? i think im going to try and plan it out and get most of the parts done and then take a long weekend to install and finish it all off in the pickup. i have to make all the pipes myself unless i can find some MPI pipes around and just cut them to fit the lb7. good idea, bad idea, what do you think. my dad will think im crazy but thats ok.

I say go for it, sounds like you've done your research and have it figured out. When you are finished it'll be quite a feeling knowing that you fabricated your own twin turbo setup

yep i think it will be fun, then if i want to go bigger the following summer i can stick a larger turbo on there as well, id have to remake the pipe but jsut welding new ends on is easy. run the IHI this summer nad switch to a HTT the following

Yeah I was talking about intake tubes. Have an aluminum welder? Although bending them isn't much of an option if its aluminum. Steel might work best. What does MPI use?

thanks man. ya i really like projects, probably like working on stuff more then playing with it, im weird. id be overly happy with 575 hp but i think i can make even more. lets jsut say i tune it to 42 PSI im gettimg 12 psi more boost then i got know and who know how much more air over just the single. i can also run way more hp towing and be safe.
