2003 6.6 Turbo Noise

Should I be able to hear the turbo on my 2003 2500HD? I'm beginning to think I don't have the power this truck should have and am suspecting the turbo. I've never heard it. Any help on the topic is appreciated.

i do wish mine was louder, but i have an intake and exhaust and can hear mine good. Expecialy cruising and going down the road next to buildings it sounds sweet. I dont think the turbo is that loud in the cab stock though

No, it will not be loud, almost non-existant on a stock truck. An after market intake, exhaust, etc will help that out a good deal... But it still will not sound like a Cummalong or a Furd...

Ok, I added some info to the signature. But yes it's all stock, no upgrades. I just hear you guys talking about power and have not been to impressed with my truck. Bought it used with 95,000 miles and I have no other experience with these engines. Seems to run and idle fine. Mileage averages about 15 back and forth to work. I don't push it. Pulling 20' travel trailer at 65 mph in tow/haukl mode gets me about 10mpg. I think I have a problem just not sure where to start.

i would have the injectors check to be sure they are good,GM has them under a 200,000mile/7yr warranty!.
here are a few options,do a 4" 409SS exhaust and a different air intake from either AFE,AirAid,Volant or Banks then do a programmer to add a lil power..i have seen quite a few gain up to 5MPG over stock with these mods!
