VIN System

I remember reading a thread on here once that gave the number to check to determine the engine for a particular Duramax. It was something like the 8th number in the string and there was a different for each engine series.

Can anyone tell me what those numbers to engine are?

Thanks.

I won't buy foreign cars. I like my Cadillac! Oh, that GMC Dually rides like a Cadillac.

The liberal, environmentalist can have my Duramax when they pry it out of my cold, dead hands!
