| Comments on the Forum Hi Guys
As one who voted between love and "hate", I will comment that it is frequently hard to search/follow specific issues and solutions. They often span multiple forums. I frequently get "lost" in all the threads, particularly when I leave a specific topic and search such things as NEW Posts. I like the site and have learned much, and contributed (I hope) as well. Quite frankly I spend time just bumbling about. I'm sure this is frustrating for some folks.
I will also comment that the site seems to be particularly centered on those who have questions on high performance. I realize this is a major interest and what gets posted is an indicator of this. My days of high performance are over. The issues that greatly interest me are maintenance, economy, and towing. I have learned a bunch from the performance guys, but often the threads are just to arcane. I can live with this. It's just not me.
I don't have any specific solutions, but I am quite sure many others have the same outcomes.
And yes, there are a few of us old military types out there.
My two cents worth
Bill

| Are their forums or sections that we could create that would help the maintenance/fuel economy issues at all?

| Thoughts /Suggestions on Forums Hi Andy
I can only speak from my personal vantage point. When I first joined the forum, I was overwhelmed with all the engine types, the new terms, and the different format. To further complicate things were the fuel/ignition differences. It was a steep learning curve for me. I grew up working on things and spent over 20 years hauling other things around. While these were diesel powered things for the most part, they were not internal combustion engines but jets. But I never repaired them, just ran them. I'm digressing. What I want to say is that I had an idea, a good one, of what it is all about and I still struggled. I is my opinion that many others are just confused, and overwhelmed initially, loose interest, and give up.
As for suggestions, perhaps there could be a "dictionary" of terms that could help newbies. Diagrams/photos of the parts concerned would also be helpful. And a compendium of the technical journals/manuals that are available online would be very useful. As references, these would also keep them interested and involved, and coming back. Perhaps we could get technical experts from GM involved and have them do weekly or monthly updates on special topics. And an area of great interest would be the unpublished technical bulletins that the dealers have but are not not normally available to us.
Hope this helps
Bill

| Good suggestions Bill. I think that a dictionary especially would be a good idea. We are working on articles to better help people as well.
Thanks,

| This is okay, but the dieselplace.com is far superior.

| I prefer a dedicated brand (DMax) forum over a more general inclusive one (i.e. dieselplace). Don't have to wade through so much "stuff" to find what I'm interested in. I also like the fact that nobody seems to get slammed here regardless of their predicament or question. Keep up the good work.
