I put 285 BFG's E rated on my truck about 2 or 3 months ago. I like them and have no complaints

I just put new tires on my truck. I went from 315/75/16 to 285/75/16. the new highway terrian is rated E for load. The tire shop said to run the rear tire at 47 psi and the front ones at 55 psi does this make sense to anyone? Cause I've been getting worse milage with the smaller tires. i thought i'd be getting better mpgs with the smaller ones. Any thoughts?

Go to TireRack.com.That website should provide you with some good info on tirre selection and what the differences are between load ranges.

I have 265's cooper st load range c and pull an 8000 lb 5th wheel and have absolutly no problem the 285's d range will be more than fine plus most tire shops like mine have a ride guarantee we allow the customers to try them for 15-30 days and if they don't like the tires they can upgrade and just pay for the difference; something to consider.

I changed on the edge but it doesn't change on the speeddo in the dash. I also heard that when tires are brand new it takes a little while for them to wear in. I just changed the fuel filter to see if that was the problem.

I found tonight that I can get Load E for an amazing price of 219 a tire......EH. That's way too much for tires.....980.00 out the door installed....WAY too much for me. I want to spend anywhere from 140-170 a tire..
