The sidewall has 2 less plys. I have 285's and just towed 11,000 down the highway doing 75mph with no sway! Some people say there is a difference. I say you'll be fine!

So.. Did you give up on saving mileage?! :cool

Depend how much you tow, they will were qicker. My brother went through BFG and Nitto AT's in about 10-15K miles. He did tow a 20' gn with 5' dove tail, with 20k backhoe.

I've established that I don't care about mileage anymore.....Gas prices will rise no matter what and this country is going to hell in a hand basket....so I might as well drive to hell in a better looking truck!

Ya no matter how hard we try to achieve better mileage the $4+ a gallon makes it awful hard to actually save.

the LR E 265's are rated for roughly 3400LBS and a LR D 285 is rated for like 3100LBS,those numbers are off the top of my head.you'll be fine..the heaviest i have towed with 285's was like 31,000LBS behind the LBZ.
