I have a set of STT 285/75-R16 and boy let me tell you! Its a great mud, snow, grass, you name it tire. I drive on the highway a lot to and its not a bad highway tire. I did loss about 1-2 mpg's. But hell I can drive in 16inches of snow with my truck and tires in 2wd. Think about it.

I think Cooper is a better tire then Goodyear, BFG, Firestone and Bridgestone. I know the price is a ton better too.

IMO the Firestone Destination MT is equal to the Cooper STT but very pricey..

So you guys are saying the STT's even though Mud Tires will go good in snow and wet roads? My biggest concern is riding in the snow, and mileage. I know if I go to a 285 I'll lose mileage, but with the Mud Tires make it even worse? I like them, but they are pricey...I don't want to buy them and then have them wear out in 30K.

Tires

Hey, I own automotive repair and tire shop we are a Cooper Tread Pro Dealer, and bang for your buck hands down the STT is well worth it, if rotated every 3k-4k miles one should get 35k to 40k out of them, I have the ST's on my truck and with 30k on them I still have about 10/32 tread left which is still over half the tread. Nice thing about Cooper is last American made tire and you not just paying for the name like BFG or Goodyear

The Cooper STT is a C class tire at 285. If you down size to the 265 it might be a D or even a E class tire for payload.

no the 285 is a load range d the only 265 I've ever seen in a d range is the Kumho KL78, which is another good tire for the price.
