Which Speedometer Calibrator are you using for Larger Tires
I have a lift with 38" tires and my speedometer is about 20% off. I had the edge w/ attitude that read out the speed, but I just sent it back. And I want the DIC to read out my correct MPG and Miles traveled, etc. I wanted to know which products are guys using; Hypertech, Superchips, ProComp, or are you able to go to the dealer or anywhere else to get this done, and how much does that cost?

Most people just use whichever brand they prefer. The DIC is seldom accurate for many. So i would just get a tuner to calibrate the speedo correction. And then hand calculate to get you real mileage range and mpg's.
I bought a PPE and it calculates the speedo. You add your tire height in inches (mines 32) then it works from there!

If you are satisfied with the edge tuning then just buy a cheap programmer to do the speedo calibration. just be sure that you get one that will allow you to install the stock tune with a speedo calabration. SOme will require you to add power in order to adjust the speedo.

Most just ask that you measure from the ground to the level part of top of tire, then type in the numbers,MOST tuners offer this feature...My speedo will say 73 when I am actually doin 70[verified by my GPS and the Superchip plugged in the OBDII]

i bought a superchips tirepaq. Its pretty cheap and you can upgrade it online to the superchips flashpaq tuner. Tirepaq works great so far for me...

Can you use the calibrators for diesel and gas? or is it for certain models? For instance can I use it for my 2003 duramax and also use the same calibrator chip for a 2002 8.1L Gas silverado?

By the way thanks for the responses, also can you go to the dealer and get speedometer calibrated?
