Biggest tires on stock rims?

Hi, I've got an '04 silverado. I've got the torsion bars cranked all the way and 1" blocks in the rear suspension. I want to put 305/70/16's on stock 6.5" rims. BUT i dont know if a 305 is too wide for the stock rims or if they'll rub anywhere. Any help is MUCH appreciated.

I would say they are to wide. I had 285/75R/16's on my stock 04 wheels and that was pushing it.

IMHO 285 is the largest you wanted go with stock rims definitely... whether you have a lift or not, it is best to go with bigger rims for larger than that, but you will still have issues with rubbing with 305's even with bigger rims, IMO

and the advice that has been given to you already is correct...and top notch... any wider and you put a lot of stress on the sidewalls and the excess heat that is created can cause a blow out.... stick with the 285 or buy some aftermarket wheel

also, if your Tbars are cranked so far you need a 1" block I would hate to see your CV angles and your ball joints.... and that ride has to be horrible

Ya I wouldnt go any bigger than a 285. After that you could get rim failure, sway, and uneven tire wear. Get some wider rims!
