the SSR swamper radial or the radial baja claw? i was looking at the 265/70/16 ssr. so as far as that tire size goes which would be better in the snow on the road?
I think big cleats like the SSR could worsen your traction in snow and ice. Id say the Baja claw is a better tire!

i'm researching here and finding that the claw doesnt come in anything smaller than a 285. this sucks!!
i used to run 33/12.50/16.5 on my 97 F250. Mud Kings. they were awsome in the winter. despite alot of morons saying "what you gonna do with those in the snow". but yeah, the SSR's cleats are alot deeper and spaced alot further apart so i was afraid that would happen. i was thinking thornbirds but have never heard a good word said about them.
I have seen thornbirds off road and they dig like no other! But, Id say there to far apart like the SSR's. What all do you do with the truck that you want that thick of tread? Plus they cost aot and wear like crap. Might want to look into a cooper tire.

just hunting and shooting. and living in ny deep snow winters. i actually dont "need" anything more than a BFG A/T. its purely looks. was just now looking at the BFG all terrains in a 265/70/16 . actuall width is 10.6 and 30.7 high. so thats right where i wanna be.
i'm seeing the 275/70/16 in the BFG too. its 31.2" tall and 11.1" wide. do you guys think it would rub with stock rims on a stock ride height 2500HD( 01' )
Go to this website General Tire * The Tires * Light Truck and look at this tire. It's $130.00 a tire.....snow rated, moutain rated, 50,000 mile guarantee, warranty, and compare the tread pattern to BFGoodrich AT's..... you won't find much of a difference. I have them on my truck now and they are good tires. Just hard to find where I live at.
