I know most here have said dont bother gearing with 33" tires. but i just want to see what would happen. if I were to run a 4" exhaust and a ppe and say be at around 21-22 MPG with 265/75/16's and 3:73's........if i ran 33x12.5's and dropped to 4:11 or 4:56 what would change fuel economy wise? also same question with 35x12.5's.
also i have been out of the off road game for a long time so roughly nowadays what would it run to have a gear swap done on both axels including a durable ring and pinion?
it wouldn't be cost effective to regear for 33's but 4:11s would be good to regain some low end they would be nice for towing or running it down the track but 4:56 is wayy out there

Whoever said, "It's not whether you win or lose that counts", probably lost.
It really wouldnt be worth doing if you go up to a 33 (285) but it could be worth it going to a 35+. Not sure what the mpg gain would be but Id say clost to what your getting now. Also, ya you would have to change the rear and front diff gears to.

ya , i know i would have to change front and rear. :tease
my buddies chevy 2500 with a 6.0 has 4:10, holy whiplash. he runs 265's. would 35's with 4:56 be about the same way? and yeah other than stock, i'm thinking 33's are a waste of time. if i go it'll be 35's.
Oh sorry... I thought you were asking IF you needed to change it.. Not how much... My bad

You'll defiantly have to call around. Id look online and get prices for the gears then call local shops and see how much they want to do the install. Theres obviously no set price so the price could change by a couple hundread depending on where you go.
