285 vs. 305

I've got an '04 silverado. T-bars are cranked and i'm planning on getting some 16x8 wheels with roughly a -10mm offset. I want to run 305/70's. Anyone running a similar setup or know if these will fit without rubbing? Thanks

Hmm.. It would be a big jump for a small improvement. Personally you'll have alot more problems than what its worth. Id stay with the 285's.

I would also suggest staying with the 285s.

Yes,me too. My 285's make a big difference in looks and functionality....The 305's are not that much of a stretch from the 285's IMHO...TowMaster is right, the trade off isn't worth it...And do you have a diesel pump in ya back yard??305's will be high maint and cost ya more in the long run..it's your money though. You'll be parting with some Ben Franklins for sho!!!

285 will be your best bet. I will say that I had them and millage went down. I personally run 265's and am very happy. Nice size with out to much millage sacrifice. Good Luck

A buddy of mine got 305 on 16x8 centerlines. He had to do quite abit of cutting on the bumper and fenders to make them fit. Too much cutting IMHO

I like 285's....they will be my next tire. I get good mileage with the 265's.....but I think my truck would be completed with bigger tires.

some of the 03-04 ext cab short beds sit higher then most and if so then yes you can clear the 305's without a problem but they are kinda wide for 8" wheels so i would highly recommend the 285's over the 305's but thats up to you..i would be highly surprised if you couldn't clear them with only the T/Bars cranked up..
